[October 2024] West Midlands based manufacturer Laney Amplification (manufacturers of music amplification equipment since 1967) appoints Pro EV to replace their old EV charging units with more efficient EV charging stations.
Laney Amplification installed 2 dual Pod Point electric car chargers seven years ago and found the single power feed and untethered units created charging issues for their growing Hybrid and EV work fleet.
Following an initial site survey, Pro EV technical team identified that Laney Amplification would benefit from a dual fed charger that would enable a load balanced power supply to charge multiple cars quicker and more efficiently.
Pro EV Commercial Operations Manager David Struthers said: “The existing configuration limited the power when two vehicles were charging simultaneously, so a dual fed unit would allow both vehicles to charge at 22kW per hour instead of 11kW per hour. Effectively, this enables the vehicles to charger in half the time.”
Pro EV electrical engineers removed Laney Amplification’s existing pedestal chargers that were fixed into the ground and our in-house team completed the groundworks to fit two custom concrete bases for stability, ready for installation. Once the car park grounds were prepared, Pro EV installed two Alfen Eve Pro Line dual chargers.
The Operations Director at Laney Amplification said: ‘Our new chargers look a lot nicer, and the install looks cleaner’.
Pro EV also supplied the charging cables for the untethered Alfen units, which means that Laney employees can plug in straight away without the need for their own charging cables. With 4 sockets on site, Laney Amplification can provide EV charging facilities to their staff and site visitors.
